The Mckennaii Magic Mushroom is a tribute variety to Terrence Mckenna. While some debate if this variety is simply a rebranded common variety, users of the Mckennaii report above-average potency with reports of immersive journeys through consciousness.
Origin: Unknown
Strength: Average
Effects: Intense visual and auditory stimulation and immersive journeys through alternate realms of consciousness.
The Melmac Magic Mushroom is a potent variant of the Penis Envy strain. It’s rumored that the name “Melmac” was given to this variant by a spore vendor called “Homestead” in reference to a fictional planet home to alien life from the 80’s sitcom ALF. Melmac also goes by the name Homestead Penis Envy.
The Mexicube, or Mexican Cubensis Magic Mushroom variety is known for its mystical and spiritual effects. This is the genealogical parent of other hybrids such as the Matias Romero and Mestizo. Originally collected in Southern Mexico, the Mexicube is a fast colonizing and moderately fast fruiter. Fruit bodies are typically medium sized, long and slender.

Effects: Vivid visuals, spiritual or mystical feelings, and profound personal insight and revelation.
Psilocybe cubensis is a species of psychedelic mushroom that is popular among users of tryptamine-based psychedelic drugs. Within this species, there are a number of regional variants, hybrids, and isolations. The MVP is just one of those hybrids.
MVP, affectionately known as the “Most Valuable Producer,” is a strain of Psilocybe cubensis that wears its veil of mystery quite well. Its lineage and historical roots remain elusive, but what we do know is that it’s celebrated for its moderate psychedelic effects, and is a cross “OG TAT” and Melmac.
The Psilocybe Cubensis Nutcracker is a distinct isolated variation of the Yeti strain, named for its uniquely textured cap that bears a resemblance to a nutsack, which, humorously was the original name of this p. cubensis isolation. Nutcracker is not to be taken lightly, as these mushrooms pack a punch.
Origin: Yeti Isolated Mutation
Founder: Myco Clay
Potency: Above Average
Effects: Euphoric, visual stimulation, reality warping, deep understanding, and body.
The Orissa India Magic Mushroom is a popular cubensis variety among cultivators and users alike. The original specimen was reportedly found near the Nepalese border state of Bihar, India by famed mycologist John Allen (source Mushy). Over the years the Orissa India has undergone extensive isolation of its genetics, and therefore most of the genetics available today are domesticated and produce large fruit. The potency of the Orissa India mushroom is a potent cubensis variety.

Strength: Average
Effects: The Orissa India mushroom provides intense visual stimulation and a strong body high. Shadowlord (2012). Orissa India Grow. Mycotopia
The Penis Envy Uncut Mushroom (PEU) is a genetic isolation of the Penis Envy P. cubensis variety. This isolation is unique in that the veil does not open and separate, even well into maturity. Similar to other Penis Envy isolations, the PEU produces fruits with underdeveloped caps with dense stems. The fruits are small to medium in size. This variety is considered very resistant to contamination. Of the many isolates, PEU is reported to be the smallest fruit producing, but also the most potent variety. Effects include overwhelming feelings of happiness and joy, and vivid visual stimulation.
Origin: Unknown
Strength: Potent
Effects: Effects include overwhelming feelings of happiness and joy, and vivid visual stimulation.
The moniker “Psilocybe Fanaticus” may initially appear scientific, resembling that of the species Psilocybe cubensis; however, it is not so. It is instead the nickname of Robert McPherson and a variety of P. cubensis he bred, also identified as the PF Classic. The PF in the well-known PF Tek refers to McPherson as well.
While PF Classic is indeed a classic cubensis variety and a favorite among users, it is not grown as commonly. Like P. cubensis in general, it is physically diverse, with a stem that may be short or tall, thick or thin, spongy or fibrous. The veil remains intact until the mushroom is fully mature, allowing growers to wait until the mushrooms are quite large before harvesting without spreading spores everywhere.
As a naturally variable species, P. cubensis has a multitude of variations that have been found, isolated, named, and cultivated as separate strains. The species also grows in the wild across much of the globe wherever its preferred food source, the feces of large mammals, is found. Whatever the strain, it is among the most sought-after hallucinogenic mushrooms worldwide and is usually the species referred to by terms such as “shrooms” or “magic mushrooms.” There are other contenders, other species that include the same active component, psilocybin, as well as others that contain moscimol, a wholly distinct hallucinogen that causes a different kind of experience when ingested.
The Shakti mushroom is a recent albino mutation of the Malabar Coast mushroom originating from Malabar Coast, India. Characterized by its robust stems and firm caps, this mushroom starts with a convex cap that matures into a unique wavy, rigid structure. Notable for its pale coloring, the Shakti mushroom displays distinct bluish bruising. Collecting spores from this strain is challenging due to its wavy cap structure. However, this rarity, coupled with its newness and limited spore production, offers a unique research opportunity for pioneering mycologists.
