The Penis Envy Magic Mushroom is kind of an outlier in the cubensis realm. Cubes are cubes are cubes, except for Penis Envy. Although reportedly originating from an Amazonian specimen brought back by Terrance Mckenna, this p. cubensis isolation boasts much higher concentrations of psilocin and psilocybin than other regional variants. This is thanks to the work of Richard Gee, who developed this variety through isolation using the methodology of creating a stable variant from the fruit the blues the most.

The cultivation of Penis Envy mushrooms, while possible at home, requires careful attention due to their sensitivity to environmental conditions. This strain demands a precise balance of temperature, humidity, and light to fruit properly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to cultivating Penis Envy Mushrooms:
- Innoculate grain bag with 3-5cc of Penis Envy liquid culture or spores via spore syringe.
- Store the inoculated grain bag in a dry area for colonization making sure to maintain a substrate temperature of 84-86. Colonizing mycelium generates its own heat, so an ambient room temperature in the high 70s is recommended.
- Once fully colonized, prepare the tin container and begin layering the substrate and colonized grain. Begin and end with a layer of the substrate.
- Set aside for re-colonization (10-14 days)
- Prepare the li by adding fresh air holes and cover with micro-pore tape.
- Replace the lid and place the tin into fruiting conditions. Reduce the ambient temperatures to reduce the substrate temperatures to 74-78 degrees F.
- Mist the inside of the chamber lid when needed.
