Description
Koh Samui Super Strain Mushroom Information
Koh Samui Super Strain, aka KSS, is a regional variety of Psilocybe cubensis that hails from the island of Koh Samui in Thialand. This variety of psychedelic mushrooms is reported to have a higher potency than other p. Cubensis varieties, however, this is debated as a fact that potency can depend on a number of environmental and growth factors. However, users report that the KSS provides intense visual effects, deep introspection, and euphoria.
The history of the Koh Samui Super Strain is somewhat unclear, but it is believed to have been first discovered in the early 1990s by an American named John Allen. Allen was living in Thailand at the time and came across a strain of mushrooms that he believed to be highly potent. He brought spores back to the United States and began cultivating the mushrooms, eventually naming them the Koh Samui Super Strain.
When it comes to growing conditions, the Koh Samui Super Strain is similar to other strains of P. cubensis. They prefer warm and humid environments and can be grown using a variety of methods, including the use of pre-sterilized substrates or growing them on grain.
How To Grow Koh Samui Super Strain Magic Mushrooms
- Inoculate grain bag with 3-5cc of KSS liquid culture or spores via spore syringe.
- Store the inoculated grain bag in a dry area for colonization making sure to maintain a substrate temperature of 84-86. Colonizing mycelium generates its own heat, so an ambient room temperature in the high 70s is recommended.
- Once fully colonized, prepare the tin container and begin layering the substrate and colonized grain. Begin and end with a layer of the substrate.
- Set aside for re-colonization (10-14 days)
- Prepare the li by adding fresh air holes and cover with micro-pore tape.
- Replace the lid and place the tin into fruiting conditions. Reduce the ambient temperatures to reduce the substrate temperatures to 74-78 degrees F.
- Mist the inside of the chamber lid when needed.
- Harvest
